Our focus is on mobilisation, not ownership — helping initiatives reach the scale where they can stand on their own.
Initiatives must:
The energy transition is the largest economic project ever undertaken by Australia, eventually costing trillions of dollars. It’s also an industrial policy question as much as an energy one: the industries of the future will only locate and scale here if Australia can deliver genuinely cheap, abundant, reliable energy, at price points that make new investment bankable.
Rozetta supports a number of initiatives that aim to lower the cost of transition and drive the creation of abundant, renewable, low-cost energy. This included supporting a bid for a Bioenergy CRC, that aimed to reduce the barriers for bioenergy companies in Australia to scale their businesses. We are also working with Bioenergy Australia to grow international trade for Australian manufactured biofuels.
Artificial Intelligence is the fastest-moving technology revolution the world has seen to date — transforming industries, geopolitical power, and workplaces alike. Thriving in this shift will take more than adoption: it requires building genuine national capability, ensuring humans stay accountable for how AI is used, and equipping workplaces with the skills and governance to use it safely and productively.
Rozetta is pursuing a number of initiatives to help position Australia for success in an AI-powered global economy, including a submission to the Australian Government to support an Artificial Intelligence CRC that would build core AI capability for Australian industry, rather than simply importing it.
Rozetta is supporting the development of a National Roadmap for Semiconductors and supported a submission by Macquarie University for an Industrial Transformation Training Centre in Semiconductors.
These sectors are all interlinked. Critical minerals feed the energy transition and semi-conductor manufacture; the energy transition creates demand for AI-managed grids and semiconductor-heavy devices; and AI accelerates both minerals discovery, energy demand and environmental approvals. Improvements in any one area creates multiplier effects in the others.
Rozetta continues to review our strategic priorities. In 2026 we commissioned a major research exercise into Australia’s biggest economic opportunities over the coming decades. Drawing on bibliometric, economic and patent data, the research identified the sectors where Australia has the strongest combination of existing capability and future demand. This research is helping to guide Rozetta’s focus and its choice of where to concentrate its efforts.
Rozetta supported the creation of the $185m Critical Metals for Critical Industries CRC which is working with 60 companies to develop critical metals refining capability in Australia to feed manufacturing here in Australia and with our closest allies.
Some of Australia’s most significant challenges require more than one organisation, discipline or perspective to solve. Rozetta Institute’s Innovation Foundries create a common space to bring together the people, problems and potential solutions needed to explore these challenges differently.
Each Foundry brings together around 15–20 leaders, experts and practitioners for an intensive, day-long workshop focused on a specific systemic challenge.
Participants explore the challenge from different perspectives, test assumptions and work through potential solutions together. Ideas are deliberately challenged, pulled apart, rebuilt and stress-tested, drawing on the collective expertise and experience in the room.
The aim is to move beyond discussion and identify practical, high-potential initiatives that could lead to meaningful action — including opportunities that Rozetta may support or invest in.
Bring the right people together. Surface the right problems. Challenge the thinking. Find a path to action.
We are currently planning an Innovation Foundry focused on the Healthspan Transition — exploring how Australia can shift from a system largely focused on treating illness to one that places greater emphasis on prevention and longer, healthier lives. Despite Australia’s high life expectancy, many Australians
An upcoming Innovation Foundry will explore how Australia can unlock the potential of its bioenergy industry and build a pathway towards a mature, scalable and investable sector. Australia has significant competitive advantages in bioenergy, including abundant feedstock, strong applied research capability and growing demand for
In May 2026, Rozetta hosted its first Innovation Foundry, Reimagining Australia’s Future Energy Market, bringing together experts from universities, industry, investment and the advisory community. The Foundry explored a central question: what would it practically take to create an electricity market capable of delivering abundant
