Leadership Transition at Rozetta Institute

Paul Dalby moves on to co-found Metacognition; CEO search underway

Rozetta Institute has announced an important leadership transition, with Chief Executive Officer Paul Dalby moving on to co-found Metacognition, an Australian technology start-up, from 14 September.

Paul joined Rozetta Institute in 2022 and has served as Chief Executive Officer since July 2025. During his time with Rozetta, he has made an outstanding contribution to the organisation and its mission to back breakthrough ideas that can deliver real impact for Australia.

Paul secured funding for the Critical Metals for Critical Industries CRC, strengthened the systems Rozetta uses to identify and test transformative innovations, and leaves an exciting pipeline of work spanning biofuels, energy, artificial intelligence and preventative health.

Rozetta Institute Chair Andrew Dyer thanked Paul for his contribution and said the organisation was proud to see him take this next step.

“This is what Rozetta exists for: to back breakthrough ideas that deliver real impact for Australia, and to back the people who carry them.”

Paul will remain with Rozetta Institute part time until the end of the year to support an orderly handover.

In the interim, Research and Impact Director Tim Bradley and Chair Andrew Dyer will share the Chief Executive’s responsibilities, with Tim taking on additional day-to-day duties.

The Board has commenced the search for Rozetta Institute’s next Chief Executive Officer — a leader who shares Rozetta’s purpose and can take the Institute into its next phase.

It remains business as usual for Rozetta’s team, programs and partners.

Rozetta Institute thanks Paul for his energy, judgement, integrity and contribution to the organisation, and wishes him and his co-founders every success in this next chapter.
